Coins come in 1, 5, 10, 100, and 500 won (1 and 5 won coins are not widely circulated). A Korean currency note of \10,000 equals about US$9 (as of November 2019). Most banks offer a currency exchange service (working hours 9am-4pm). A traveler’s daily budget is expected to be at least \100,000 when using business hotels, midrange restaurants, and public transportation.
